Rare monomeric structure of CpRh(III) dithiolene complex: Combined ESR and electronic absorption studies on electrochemically generated Rh(II) species

The rare monomeric structure of [CpRhIII(mnt)] (1) was determined by X-ray diffraction study, and the ESR spectra of electrochemically generated anion radical 1− (Rh(II) species) were obtained with the Rh hyperfine splitting in solution at r.t. (giso = 2.045, Aiso = 1.15 mT) and in frozen solution (g1 = 2.173, a1 = 1.85 mT, g2 = 1.982, a2 = 0.98 mT) at −150 °C.
