Abstract

Two novel compartmental macrocyclic dinuclear copper(II) complexes with different bridging ligands, formulated as [Cu2II(L)(μ2-Cl)]·1.5(H2O) (1) and [Cu2II(L)(μ2-OAc)]·(DMF) (2), are characterized by X-ray single-crystal diffraction where LH3 is a pentadentate ligand obtained from the Schiff base condensation between 3,5-di-tert-butyl-2-hydroxybenzaldehyde and 2,6-bis(aminomethyl)-4-chlorophenol in a molar ratio of 2:1. Due to the use of different bridges and bulky t-bu groups, different molecular conformation and dimeric packing structures are observed.
