Abstract
A novel two-dimensional grid dimeric manganese(III) tetradentate Schiff-base complex, {[Mn4(salen)4(C4H4O4)](ClO4)2}n1, (salen = N,Nâ²-ethylene-bis-salicylideneaminato, C4H4O4 = succinic acid), has been synthesized and structurally characterized. In 1, succinic acid act as a tetradentate bridging ligand, each linking four dimeric units of [Mn2(salen)2]2+via carboxyl oxygen atom, generating a 2D unique net containing 30-membered cyclic centrosymmetrical polygonal grids.
