Abstract
The spectroscopic characterisation and isolation of [M(3-pyridyl-4′-terpy)2]2+[M = Fe, Ru] has allowed for the use of these complexes as metallo-ligands. On reaction with Ag(I) the Ru(II) complex gives a heterometallic polymeric network consisting of a layered non-interpenetrating set of elongated nets based on a (6,3) net of unequal linkages.
