Abstract
The synthesis and characterization of the four neutral mononuclear MLX2 complexes of the bidentate L chelate ligand (2,5-diphenyl-3,4-bis(2-pyridyl)cyclopentadienone) are reported. The structures of CoLCl2·0.5CH3CN and NiLBr2·CHCl3 complexes have been determined by X-ray crystallography. The CoLCl2·0.5CH3CN crystals pack into the triclinic space group P1¯, and NiLBr2·CHCl3 crystallizes in the monoclinic P21/n space group.
