Abstract
In the present study, a stochastic model for the residence time distribution (RTD) in a coaxial counter current liquid–liquid impinging streams system has been developed.Simulations of droplets movements in the impinging spray system determine the residence time distribution. Droplets dynamics has been formulated from the Boltzmann equation using direct simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) method. The data predicted from the model has been correlated with the experimental results obtained from a coaxial counter current two impinging liquid–liquid steams apparatus. The degree of agreement was within 85%.
