Abstract
⺠We derive analytical solutions a landslide of an arbitrary shape on a uniformly sloping beach. ⺠The effect of both infinite and finite landslide shapes on the generated wave is presented. ⺠The effects of landslide initial position and its speed on the generated wave in the near and far fields are analyzed. ⺠The generated wave pattern at the early stage is affected by source-specific characteristics and as time goes on, the source dependent feature becomes weaker. ⺠Edge waves travel along coastline in the form of a packet confined to the shore.
