Abstract
► The Schgr-NPF-precursor transcript is detected in the central nervous system and digestive system (mainly the midgut). ► Starved animals display higher NPF-precursor transcript levels compared to animals fed “ad libitum”. ► Schgr-NPF-precursor transcript levels are influenced by the consumption of a single meal. ► trNPF influences food intake and weight increase in adult locusts.
