Abstract
⺠Representatives of Trichoptera and Lepidoptera harbor a tandem of two serpin 2 genes. ⺠Both genes of the examined caddisfly are expressed in the silk glands and generate proteins secreted with silk. ⺠In silkmoth tissues, the upstream gene is non-functional and the other expresses secreted or cytoplasmic protein.
