Abstract
⺠One hundred and five fibrin(ogen)olytic proteins were identified from the ground beetle, Eupolyphaga sinensis. ⺠Thrombolytic agents containing both direct-acting fibrin(ogen)olytic and plasminogen-activating activities. ⺠The current fibrino(gen)olytic enzymes could hydrolyze α-, β-, and γ-chains of fibrinogen. ⺠These proteins appear to be excellent templates to study structure-function relationship of serine proteases. ⺠The present work identifies novel thrombolytic agents with prospecting clinical potential.
