Abstract
⺠Sclerotinia sclerotiorum agglutinin (SSA) is highly entomotoxic for pea aphids. ⺠SSA targets the insect midgut with its brush border zone, without internalization. ⺠SSA induces cell death/apoptosis in midgut cells through binding with specific carbohydrate moieties
