Abstract
► Inhibition of plant growth by ascaulitoxin aglycone is reversed by amino acids. ► Amino acid pools are dramatically changed by the toxin. ► Neither alanine aminotransferase nor alanine: glyoxylate aminotransferase are inhibited. ► Inhibition of amino transporters may explain the results.
