Abstract
We investigated the inhibition of allene oxide synthase (AOS), a key enzyme in jasmonic acid biosynthesis, by miconazole. Kinetic analysis indicated that miconazole was a mixed-type inhibitor of AOS with a Ki value of approximately 8.4 ± 0.2 μM. Analysis of the interactions between miconazole and AOS by optical difference spectroscopy revealed that miconazole binding induces type II binding spectra with a Kd value of approximately 6.0 ± 0.2 μM.
