Abstract
⺠Pro was proposed to be a quencher of 1O2, but a direct prove is still remaining. ⺠Direct detection of 1O2 emission shows that Pro is an inefficient quencher of 1O2. ⺠Pro accumulation in plants does not prevent the oxidative damage induced by 1O2.
