Abstract
► Study of the ability of thiamine to induce resistance to P. viticola in grapevine. ► Thiamine protects grapevine plants against P. viticola under greenhouse conditions. ► Thiamine induces resistance to downy mildew by direct and indirect effects. ► Thiamine activated grapevine-defense mechanisms in absence of any pathogen infection. ► Thiamine acts as an elicitor in grapevine and not through priming as in Arabidopsis.
