Abstract
⺠Out of the 15 rice Ca2+ATPases, 3 are identified as P-type IIA, while 12 as P-type IIB. ⺠Promoter sequence of Ca2+ATPases contains several stress related cis-regulatory motifs. ⺠Ca2+ATPases showed up regulation in responses to NaCl, cold, drought, heat and ABA treatments. ⺠Protein homology showed transmembrane domains and conserved motifs of rice and Arabidopsis P-type II Ca2+ATPases. ⺠The study provides an evidence for role of Ca2+ATPases in development and regulation of abiotic stresses.
