Abstract
⺠During maturation, the berry of Arum italicum develops a low photosynthetic activity. ⺠At the green stage, the thylakoid membrane hosts a very high amount of LHCII, but only few photosystems. ⺠Native PSII forms are similar to that of the leaf lamina, but PSII is less stable. ⺠The possible roles of LHCII excess in fruits are discussed.
