Brassica juncea nitric oxide synthase like activity is stimulated by PKC activators and calcium suggesting modulation by PKC-like kinase

Abstract

âº Nitric oxide synthase like activity (BjNOSla) was detected in B.Â juncea seedlings. âº BjNOSla is activated by calcium and NADPH and is inhibited by NBT and l-NAME. âº NADPH-diaphorase and DAF-2DA staining showed its localization in guard cells. âº BjNOSla was enhanced by PMA, PS with 1,2-DG6, light and abiotic stress. âº Inhibition by staurosporine and calphostin, indicate it to be PKC regulated.
