Abstract
⺠LYMs are extracellular, glycosylated lysin motif-containing proteins. ⺠Two distinct types of LYMs are present in all higher plants. ⺠In M. truncatula, MtLYM1 and MtLYM2 show different expression patterns. ⺠MtLYM1 and MtLYM2 are GPI-anchored and probably membrane raft-associated. ⺠MtLYM2, but not MtLYM1 binds chitooctaose.
