Abstract
⺠Regulators for phenylpropanoids biosynthesis are starting to be identified in all plants. ⺠Significant challenges remain in monocots as a consequence of duplicate genomes and multiple branches of the pathway. ⺠Interesting cross-talks are emerging between lignin and polysaccharide accumulation pathways.
