Abstract
⺠An in situ zymography technique for mapping and quantifying enzyme activity in soil was developed. ⺠The method allows exploring the two dimensional distribution of enzyme activities in soil. ⺠The distribution of protease and amylase activity in the rhizosphere of Lupinus polyphyllus was determined. ⺠Since the method works in situ it likely pictures enzyme activities more realistically than traditional enzyme assays.
