Abstract
•Entoloma crepidotoides is described as a new species from Hainan Island of China.•The new species is characterized by white crepidotoid habit and the habitat on soil.•The morphological and phylogenetic analyses showed that this fungus belonged to the section Claudopus.
Entoloma crepidotoides is described from Hainan Island in southern China and characterized by its crepidotoid habit, white to pinkish fibrillose-tomentose pileus, 6–7 angled basidiospores, and rare clamp connections. Phylogenetic analyses of the new species and related taxa based on nLSU, mtSSU and RPB2 sequences are provided.
