Abstract
Pythium aquatile and P. macrosporum were isolated from the soil of a cultivated field in Gunma Prefecture and a forest in Nagano Prefecture for the first time in Japan. Their morphological characteristics are described, and their pathogenicity and taxonomy are discussed.
