Abstract
Manual therapy is an important field within equine physiotherapy for the management of pain and impairment in the neuromusculoskeletal system of the horse. This article outlines types of manual therapy techniques applicable to the horse and the evidence that is available for mechanisms of action and efficacy of these techniques. Examples of techniques are given where possible.
