Abstract
⺠In male ovenbirds, some features were much more variable among songs than were others. ⺠A given male's songs varied little in the duration or in the number of units composing the song. ⺠The most variable aspect was the placement of the peak amplitude within the song. ⺠Variety in bird song sessions can be yielded by other means than the use of a varied song repertoire.
