Abstract
▶ Mates within Zenaida dove pairs are consistently producers or scroungers. ▶ Scrounging within pairs facilitates learning to feed from a novel apparatus. ▶ Tamer doves are significantly slower to learn to feed from the apparatus. ▶ Reversal learning tests can be successfully conducted in the field. ▶ Sex, body condition and territorial chases do not affect learning rates.
