Evaluation of a targeted selective treatment scheme to control gastrointestinal nematodes of hair sheep under hot humid tropical conditions

•A targeted selective treatment (TST) scheme was evaluated in hair sheep under hot-humid tropical conditions.•The TST helped avoiding unnecessary AH treatments of anaemic or emaciated ewes with negligible GIN infections.•A large proportion of ewes remained without a single AH treatment in all surveyed farms.•Further longer-term studies are needed to determine safety of this TST scheme under hot, humid conditions.
