Abstract
Brucella melitensis infection is still widespread throughout most countries of the Mediterranean Basin, West Asia and some parts of Latin America despite its acknowledgment as an important economic and health problem and the availability of proven control means. This paper depicts some past control programmes in the WANA region and proposes guidelines aimed at combatting the disease in the affected areas.
