Abstract
Only one Great ape survived World War II, the female Chimpanzee âSuse“. 1951 a male Chimpanzee - called âJonny“ - came by an animal dealer to the zoo, and one year later the first offspring (1,0 âSam“) was born. Other births occurred 1963, 1966 and 1971, and later on in another group 1988, 1989 and 1990. âSam“ reached an age of nearly 49 years.
