Abstract
The food allergy is an adverse reaction, influenced by immunological mechanisms, which can be diagnosed using scientifically established methods. In this revision, a series of «complementary» and «alternative» in vitro and in vivo procedures which have not been scientifically validated is listed. In this sense, a mistaken diagnostic approach leads to a delay in a proper treatment being administered.
