Abstract
⺠Squat lobster Uroptychus naso revealed to be three cryptic species. ⺠Mitochondrial lineages and morphology reveal populations of one species and two new species. ⺠Uroptychus naso occurs from Japan to northern Western Australia. ⺠Uroptychus pinocchio n. sp. occurs from Japan to the Philippines. ⺠Uroptychus cyrano n. sp. is confined to north-western Australia. ⺠Fossils suggest an early Eocene ancestor and divergence of U. naso in the Miocene.
