Abstract
The bone and mineral metabolism group of the Argentine Society of Nephrology (www.san.org) have drawn up a consensus to help nephrologists in the management of mineral metabolism in patients with chronic kidney disease in the Argentine context. The new definitions and the more integrated system recently proposed by the Kidney Disease - Improving Global Outcomes Foundation have been taken into account. This article discusses the value of 25-hydroxy-vitamin D and the treatment of secondary hyperparathyroidism in chronic kidney disease stages 3-5.
