Abstract
⺠Fungi colonize limestone after short-term exposure in a subtropical environment. ⺠Microbial growth was more abundant on the porous limestone. ⺠The fungal community composition depends on the season and porosity. ⺠A greater number of species was found on porous limestone in both seasons. ⺠The fungal community was represented by airborne and unidentified fungi.
