Abstract
⺠Restoration of a target ecosystem may have undesired effects on adjoining ecosystems. ⺠Restoration changed macroinvertebrate communities and species abundances but not species richness. ⺠Benthic macroinvertebrates can be used as reliable indicators of wetland restoration impacts. ⺠Planning of restoration projects should be extended to nearby habitats.
