Abstract
⺠Implementation of biomonitoring in China. ⺠Evaluation of the EU biomonitoring test and indices in two river basins in China. ⺠Diatom indices and toxicology tests are useful tools. ⺠They need to be adapted to different environmental conditions of Chinese rivers. ⺠China integrated biomonitoring in the national water quality monitoring programme.
