Abstract
⺠We examine the use of population indicators to evaluate conservation achievements. ⺠Our data relate to forest bird populations threatened by introduced predators. ⺠Correlated population trends could not be predicted by life history traits. ⺠Predator management did not produce consistent bird population trends among sites. ⺠Indicator relationships need validation prior to application in conservation.
