Abstract
⺠This research work deals with the development of a unique model to quantify various textile fibres in the light of environmental impact and ecological sustainability. ⺠This article, which is the first of its kind, attempts to develop an exclusive model to augment the currently limited knowledge on environmental impact and ecological sustainability of textile fibres. ⺠The model developed in this research work results in Environmental Impact index (EI) and Ecological Sustainability Index (ESI) of ten chosen fibres. ⺠From the results, organic cotton is the most and acrylic is the least preferred fibre in terms of environmental impact and ecological sustainability.
