Abstract
► We calculated carbon emissions from Beijing's production and household sectors. ► We developed a model to decompose the carbon emissions into eight causal factors. ► We estimated the directions and magnitudes of the influences of the eight factors. ► We discuss potential strategies for mitigating Beijing's carbon emissions.
