Abstract
⺠Hydrochemical and phytoplankton exergy are positively correlated.⺠Exergy and structural information of phytoplankton increase with increasing biomass.⺠Thermodynamic expectations are in agreement with ecological theories of succession.⺠The results support the use of body-size spectra in exergy calculations.
