Oxythermal habitat parameters and identifying cisco refuge lakes in Minnesota under future climate scenarios using variable benchmark periods

► We developed a fish habitat simulation model using daily temperature and DO profiles. ► We ranked the quality of fish habitat for cisco in 620 Minnesota lakes. ► Oxythermal habitat was determined using a variable 31-day benchmark period. ► We identified potential refuge lakes under projected future climate scenarios. ► About one fourth of the 620 cisco lakes are projected to become refuge lakes.
