Abstract
► We model a butterfly metapopulation which is affected by daily weather. ► The model can be used to study landscape adaptation compensating for climate change. ► We examine responses of a butterfly population to fragmentation and climate change. ► Our metapopulation could escape adverse conditions in summer by phenological shifts. ► In our case, climate-dependent landscape adaptation was not required.
