Abstract
⺠We develop a simulation model of the Opuntia scrublands in Ayacucho, Peru. ⺠The model contains five ecological-economic subsystems. ⺠We examined the effects of social practices/social capital on net present values. ⺠We conclude that increasing livestocks will be unsustainable.
