Abstract
► Grass feedbacks on fire frequency do not result in stable savannas in ► differential equation models. ► Differential equation models assume that vegetation losses in fire are ► continuous in time. ► We show that incorporating fire as discrete events can produce stable, bounded savannas. ► Our results confirm the potential for grass feedbacks on fire to result in stable savannas.
