Abstract
⺠Grass feedbacks on fire frequency do not result in stable savannas in ⺠differential equation models. ⺠Differential equation models assume that vegetation losses in fire are ⺠continuous in time. ⺠We show that incorporating fire as discrete events can produce stable, bounded savannas. ⺠Our results confirm the potential for grass feedbacks on fire to result in stable savannas.
