Abstract

We study population dynamics of harvested species with complex age structure (with salmon fish stocks as an example). We describe catch size as a function of harvesting efforts and total population size. Emphasis is on the analysis of contradiction between attempts to maximize income and stability of population dynamics. Modeling results are compared to American statistical data on salmon fish harvest in Bering Sea.
