Abstract
► Locoweed swainsonine induction to water deficit occurred in two of four taxa. ► The two taxa with swainsonine induction were Astragalus mollissimus varieties. ► Locoweed biomass, growth rate, and photosynthesis- no trade-off with swainsonine.
