Coinciding development of winter wheat and leaf beetles along an Alpine transect

► Models are used to simulate the development of winter wheat and cereal leaf beetles. ► The models are applied at seven locations along a European Alpine transect. ► During oviposition, insect development was coincident with wheat development. ► Thereafter, increased temperature difference between locations caused incomplete coincidence. ► The degree of coinciding development of these species depends on environmental conditions.
