Abstract
► Succession and seasonality of Central European coprophilous beetles were studied. ► The succession is more rapid than in other ephemeral habitats and cooler regions. ► The temporal segregation of coprophilous beetles reflects their resource utilization. ► The seasonality is more pronounced in late successional guilds and species. ► Species successional sequence is likely to be fixed in species coevolution.
