Abstract
► We revealed the interaction of hydrological seasonality and landscape on nitrogen. ► We compare land use effects within riparian zones of 100-1000 m width on nitrogen. ► Nitrogen is better predicted by land use in the high flow period. ► Landscape composition within the entire catchment is a better predictor of nitrogen. ► Land use and hydrology together regulate riverine nitrogen.
