Abstract
⺠High ant species turnover was observed at small spatial scale (1 m) in Andean forests. ⺠At regional scale (2 km), both ant assemblages and soil properties were distinct. ⺠Subterranean ant distribution was weakly explained by soil properties heterogeneity.
