Abstract
► We demonstrate facilitation and resource competition between two nematode species. ► Different sublethal levels of cadmium pollution affect their ecological interactions. ► Elevated cadmium concentrations strongly reduce population abundance of one species. ► Reduced competition leads to higher fitness of one species at increased pollution.
